Why work with an Obesity Medicine physician?
Just as there are specialists for certain organs in the body, there are specialists for Obesity. A Board Certified Obesity physician will know the science behind weight management and can best help guide you on the right path forward. We know all the options available and can spend the time you need helping you decide what is the best path forward. We can offer treatments that can make a real difference in you or your child’s health, instead of just “eat less, move more.”
Can’t my own PCP write for these medications?
Yes, PCPs are qualified to write for all the medications available for Obesity Management. However, some may not be familiar with or feel comfortable prescribing these latest treatments. Also, many times Prior Authorizations are required for the medications to be approved, and not all PCPs have the time to spend petitioning for your right to the medications.
Do you take insurance?
At this time, I do not accept any insurance plans. My fees are directly between me and you.
Why don’t you take insurance?
Health insurance is just that, insurance. It’s not health CARE. I want to be able to spend as much time as needed with you and your family in order to provide the best service and create best outcomes. I also offer virtual group coaching sessions, but unfortunately, many health insurance plans do not prioritize coverage for these types of visits, or they may limit the number of allowed visits.
Can I use my HSA/FSA account money to pay for your services?
It is best to talk with your healthcare plan advisor or tax advisor to know if the money allocated for health spending can be used to pay for services in my clinic. I am a medical doctor providing medical care, so it is possible but not guaranteed that it will be an allowable expense.
